We have been looted yet again

Every year 26th July our country pays tributes to our 527 martyrs who attained martyrdom in Kargil War with pride in our hearts and prayer on our lips. But have we learnt from Kargil War where like everytime we were caught with our pants down??The recent emergency panic purchase exposes our vulnerability yet again.

Each and every conflict India had since 1947 has showed that we have always lacked critical military hardware and ammunition and have always resorted to panic buying when enemy is at gates.Indian soldiers throughout the world have been praised for their fighting skills even earning respect from most racist armies-Aussies at Gallipoli. Many Australian diaries and letters feature references to Indian soldiers. History is full of examples where we have snatched victories from the jaws of death.Read "Slender was the thread-Brig L.P.Sen" to understand how we saved Srinagar and would have easily captured Muzaffarabad and rest of POK had it not been for British masters then who were still in command despite India gaining Independence.British officers engineered and halted our troops forward movement from URI.They never wanted India to share borders with Afghanistan because British policy makers never wanted a scenario of Soviet Union standing on Indian borders in order to contain reach and hegemony of Soviet Union in the future. How far sighted Britishers were. If POK was captured by India then we would have shared borders with Afghanistan and Britishers in 1940s had realised Soviet Union would one day will set foot in Afghanistan which they indeed did in 30 years later in 1978.

There is also an apocryphal story behind British intention behind engineering partition of India was infact the same reason - premonition of Soviet Union on the Afghan border-The Durand Line.

Soviet Union intervention in Afghanistan failed because the Western allies USA & Britishers gave safe heaven and funded and directed Afghan resistance-the Mujahideen from across this Durand Line.If India was not partitioned in 1947 then in all probability Soviet Union would have succeeded in its Afghan intervention and probably not collapsed in 1991.

The reason why i have mentioned this above is all countries which today have a weightage in world affairs always had a Security strategy aka National Security Policy thinking abt 35-50 years ahead unlike we Indians whose political masters have squandered away territorial gains achieved in battlefield in the negotiation table. For example Lal Bahadur Shastri's decision of handing back Haji Pir Pass back to Pakistan.Till today we are rueing this foolish decision as Pakistan's lion share of terrorist infiltration comes from the same Haji Pir Pass. Our policy makers decision at the time of crisis reflect that we have never sensed National Security from 35-50 years perspective. We need to learn a lot from British.

Most of our foolish decisions of political masters comes from the fact that Military top brass recommendation are often overruled by the IAS lobby.IAS lobby has always ensured our armed forces are under-armed they have ensured there is a fear psychosis in ruling political class that only way to ensure there is no coup in India is to keep our armed forces under-armed.Also incidents in past such as Operation Brasstacks when many things were hidden from PM by then COAS General Sundarji as well as the apocryphal story of COAS General V K Singh ordering a brigade towards Delhi at the height of his public verbal tussle with erstwhile GOI was utilised to the fullest by IAS lobby to keep the fear of impending coup in the minds of the ruling political class that if armed forces are given all their weapons requirements.

Because of this reason at every moment in our past when war clouds were looming and when enemy was at the gates we have seen news bulletins of Indian Government increasing budget and indulging in panic buying of critical spares and ammunations.

Take the example of India's decision to equip it's new Rafale Fighter jets which are already coming with deadly weapons package with "HAMMER" Air-to-Ground precision munitions from France. Infact Israel's SPICE-2000  had edged out the HAMMER in an IAF competition to arm the Mirage in 2012 mainly because French Hammer was costing almost double that of Israel's SPICE-2000.Since Integrating SPICE-2000 with Rafale would have taken time the decision of IAF to go for expensive HAMMER exposes our lack of modern weapon system.

It was because of our obsolete military hardware we failed to punish Pakistan Air -Force post Operation Swift Retort which exposed our fighter pilots were cut off the communication circuit with ground controllers as Pakistan's AWACS had electronically jammed our fighter jets communication with ground controllers. It was because of this Wing Commander Abhinandan didnt recieve the warning and direction of ground controller to go cold and not enter Pakistan's Air Space.

The recent decision to acquire Light tanks under emergency purchase procurement exposes the vulnerability of the heavy T-90's Tanks in the higher altitudes in Ladhakh. Today when we are celebrating Kargil Vijay Diwas lets not forget it was Kargil Review Committee which had recommended creation of a post of CDS who would be first among the Generals in order for better synchronization among our three armed services which was found wanting in the same Kargil war.It was formulated only on 24 December 2019 almost 20 years after Kargil Review Committee had recommended it.

Also Kargil War had exposed our survelliance capability. The present day Chinese occupation of our territory again exposes our survelliance capabilities.Whether it was Kargil,URI surgical strike,Pulwama massacre or the present day tensions with Chinese we have always been found with our pants down when it comes to military equipments.

When any country buys weapons or ammo in panic they will never get the best price because they dont have the time to negotiate and the weapon supplier also knows this and we will be looted.

Until and unless we create a robust military industrial eco-system with active participation of Indian private companies and unless and until Military is given due importance in decision making of weapon acquisition instead of IAS lobby we will continued to get looted like in the past.

Betrayed Again!!!

It came as a surprise to everyone when after over four decades of saber-rattling and minor scuffles barring few like Doklam crisis, a border dispute between China and India has turned fatal.

We were surprised because we as a country have never learnt lessons from History. This Gandhi principles are bred in our blood since ages.It has been a part of our upbringing and  hence if we look at our history it is because of our lack of military sense and strategic vision that we have continuously shrunken in size.

Nehru didn't respond positively to feelers sent by US to have the UN Security Council permanent seat be given to India by pushing China out.US didn't want China to become member of UNSC because of its communist and soviet leanings. Nehru didn't want to antagonize the  mighty neighbour by going against it and he took several steps defending China like opposing UN resolutions branding China as an aggressor in the Korean war.China payed our friendship back with interest in 1962.

China in return has repeatedly blocked proposals at the United Nations to designate Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist in the same UNSC.

Before the ambush in which Chinese soldiers killed more than 20 Indian Army soldiers,Chinese had agreed to de-escalate 21 times in talks across 5 separate military rank levels & MEA level over 40 days. Its  the biggest betrayal modern warfare has seen in recent times.

Chinese President Xi Jinping is killing 2 birds with a single stone by escalating the ongoing standoff in Galwan Valley.1->He is desperate to divert his countrymen attention from Chinese leadership  complicity in Corona Virus spread.China being the mecca of manufacturing doesn't give 2 hoots to losing Indian markets for their companies. It has recently filled up its strategic oil reserves taking advantage of lowest crude oil price  ever, it has ensured them fuel worth  of 6 months even if India along with US  block off their oil supplies,80 % of which moves through Straits of Malacca.Just like Siliguri Corridor is our Chicken Neck ,Straits of Malacca is China's chokepoint.

Despite China operating a Naval base in Dijbouti on the Horn of Africa its base and Naval assets in Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea can be easily tackled if US comes in active support of ours should push comes to shove.

Our Negligent attitude towards procurement of arms will bring a heavy toll for us should situation spiral out of control. The recent incident of Nepal Border police firing and killing an unharmed Indian farmer and also Nepal PM's hostile moves by claiming several Indian villages on border as belonging to Nepal are all sinister designs of China. In few days we will come across similar border tensions along our Eastern neighbour -Bangladesh.

Pakistan Defence experts have always expressed openly their lost opportunity of Grabbing Kashmir during 1962 Sino -India War.Pakistan through its proxies in all likelihood create some mischief like the URI massacre or maybe A Pulwama Style attack.Pakistan has long been the surrogate child of China.

2->The second reason  of China's belligerent attitude and its itching for escalation is to make India look as a weak and unviable destination for foreign investors  who were planning to switch their manufacturing base to India from China in the wake of the geopolitical and economic repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic so as to reduce their dependency on China.

China wants India to escalate so that our economy already in tatters because of Chinese Virus takes a further hit.If we are unable to keep this border tension as sector specific like how we did with Pakistan in 1999 will have an adverse impact on our economy.

China  has always considered India to be a long term threat and the Chinese leadership wanted to deliver a major blow to India's political and military leadership. Our negligence to falling Indian Air Force squadron strength will hit us big if there is a full scale war which China wants. Our Defence capability has taken a huge hit ever since A K Anthony became Defense Minister. We may pay a heavy price for A K Anthony insistence of maintaining a clean image by not signing our critical defence needs. We couldn't hit back Pakistan when they carried out Operation Swift retort.I hope we dont come across such a scenario where we were handicapped by our obsolete Defence equipments.

By murdering  more than 20 of our men China has set us a trap. How we dodge this trap by exacting revenge and at the same time how we keep this tension localised and not get into full scale war will decide whether we survive this trap or not.

Have we really messed up??

Recently, all of us came across several heart wrenching videos and pictures of daily wage earners exodus to their native state. One video in particular shows an exhausted child sleeping on bag being dragged by his mother.

All this videos and pictures proves one thing that we are still underdeveloped as a nation and not a developing nation as some ultra patriots self proclaim.Even i am coming across daily new faces who are never used to beg but forced by the harsh circumstances have resorted to begging for food or money in order to feed their loved ones. Its a bad bad situation on street and if government and local muncipal machinery doesn't find a solution to this we may see a spurt in street crimes being committed by people due to hunger. Many media both print and electronic are criticizing government for having failed and for having messed up the migrant daily wage earners issue. But have our government both centre and all state governments really messed up??

Though the scenes on streets are heart wrenching but I for one must honestly admit I have seen myself how government machinery and all government personnel whether its State Police Force or take for example Mumbai 's BEST employees braving the odds against the Chinese Virus.I have seen myself BEST staff distributing food in their new AC mini Bus which they have converted into food distribution vehicle. And in this process many BEST Employees have laid down their life. Every day BEST is running 1300 buses ferrying essential staff workers.

Likewise those who always harbor and portray negative image of police force should note so far six Mumbai Police personnel have succumbed to Chinese virus and more than 1000 police personnel in the state of Maharashtra alone have been infected with Chinese virus. Many people always portray negative image of Police but the same people do not appreciate the harsh work conditions these Policemen daily face in their career. There have been many instances where Police officers are conducting rituals of the Chinese Virus victims due to refusal to do so by victims family members

Yes there should be criticism on Government working if they are negligent or showing laxity in their attitude. There should be constructive criticism.Among the many families and migrant workers fleeing from their workplace due to no earnings there are many people like private security guards ,essential shop employees fleeing metropolis like Mumbai despite no paycut due to the fear that they will also catch up the Chinese Virus.I can say this because this incident happened in my neighbouring building.

Government had to take many pro-active measures which were seen by many public as harsh. But it was the question of choosing life over death.Life is like a game of Chess. If you give up you Lose, If you don’t make a move you Lose. Only way to live is keep moving and adapting to circumstances.Like in Chess ,In Life one must also take step backwards in order to survive.

Among the major states -Maharashtra is leading the fight against Chinese Virus.Today Maharashtra has the highest number of positive cases because Maharashtra has done the highest number of testing.Maharashtra ensured local train services were stopped in Mumbai something which has never happened before even during terror strikes.Remember 26/11 attacks local trains were running from CSMT station in less than 6 hours after the very iconic railway station had come under attack.Suburban rail services were stopped at the correct time in Mumbai otherwise each and every family in Mumbai Metropoliton Region  would have had positive Chinese Virus cases. No media house appreciated the harsh measures taken by government.Instead they have kept on criticizing government.

Yes there have been many mistakes on the part of government as well like if the migrant workers were given proper awarness of where they can avail themselves free food being distributed then such a huge exodus would have not happened. Also we cannot deny that the food distributed maybe inadequate in numbers but we should also accept the fact that none of us have experienced a crisis of such a huge magnitude. The fact that Muncipal authorities are using open spaces such as Wankhede Stadium  and Mahalaxmi racecourse using Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 -a colonial era act, all of 123 years old itself shows that there were no SOP in place. But its not government's fault.

In this fight against Chinese Virus each and every citizen of our country are soldiers.Yes the Government both Centre as well as all States may have messed up in some areas but they are not Guilty. We are in a state of war against Chinese-lab produced virus and history is full of examples where Mistakes have happened in every War.Its time to be united and not indulge in blame gaming. Its our duty to support our Centre and all States Government because we all are soldiers in this war against Chinese Virus.

India - The Biggest Victim In The Ongoing US-IRAN Tension

In 1998 as President Bill Clinton was facing an impeachment vote,he ordered airstrikes on Iraq which led to delay in voting of impeachment proceedings against him.It is widely believed that Clinton ordered the airstrikes to divert public attention from impeachment proceedings.Eventually Clinton was impeached but he still came out of it as he was acquitted in the Senate trial.

It is often said that History repeats itself .The killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani on 3rd January 2020 near Baghdad International Airport by American Drone Strike on the orders of Twitter Savvy US President Donald Trump who stated that General Qassem Soleimani was plotting attacks to hit American installation like military base and Embassy in the Middle East.He even blamed General  Soleimani for the attack on Israel Defence attache in Delhi Embassy which had taken place way back in 2012.Just like Iraq airstrikes during Clinton presidency the timing of  attack on General Qassem Soleimani  has certainly raised many eyebrows and very few people are taking in Trump defence of launching Drone Attack on Iranian General.

Just like Clinton tried to divert public attention from his impeachment proceedings,Trump is trying to shore up his image among his countrymen.President Trump is selling Old wine in new bottle.Trump though unlike Clinton is already impeached before Drone Strike,He awaits Senate Trial. He is trying to shore up his ratings among his country lawmakers as well with his domestic audience.

Unfortunately it is Iraq which bore the brunt in Clinton ordered Airstrikes in 1998 then and now in Trump ordered Drone Attack. Not to forget Iraq was invaded by Americans during George W Bush under false pretense of it hording Weapons of Mass Destruction.

It was none other than Donald Trump who had accused his predecessor Barak Obama will launch war on Iran to help him get re-elected as a President who knows how to take decisive decisions.

Despite not achieving its political objective in Afghanistan,Iraq and Syria,America under Trump is itching to take on another country.

In all this geo-political tensions it is India which is the biggest victim among all other countries in the region.

Till May 2019 India was one of the largest purchaser of crude oil second only to China from Iran.Iran was the only OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation-a group of around 57 countries)country ever come to India’s rescue on Kashmir as it blocked a resolution by other members of OIC to ask the UN Human Rights Council to sanction India.

Iran is the only Islamic country which has always stood in support for India in all International Bodies.Today with the increasing tensions between US And Iran has resulted in surging of crude oil prices,it will leave a big hole in India's economy which is already grappling with slowdown. The automobile industry already reeling under the impact of increasing capex for transitioning to BS-6 Complaint vehicles will be hit. Also biggest impact will be felt by aviation players.

On top of this Pakistan will emerge as an important ally  again to decision makers in Washington D.C. Just like how Pakistan soil was used as forward base for American troops after 9/11 to launch strikes in Afghanistan,Pakistan will cunningly make the most of it's location as Iran Neighbour and will welcome Americans with both arms to use their soil in return for funding which it desperately needs now as it's on the brink of  economic disaster.

This US-Iran tensions is like God sent gift to Pakistanis.Don't be surprised if you find that American assets used for attacking Iran should things escalate further from here were found to have taken off from Pakistan Air Force Bases. If there is a major escalation Pakistan will use this opportunity to create mischief on its eastern front with its arch enemy India as it knows America will turn blind eye since it needs Pakistan support in order to attack Iran.

In all scenarios it is India which will be the biggest victim.
